The questions homeowners ask
My basement has had moisture before. Can you still finish it?
We start with a moisture audit and deal with the cause before any framing goes up. From there: a sub-floor thermal break, code insulation and vapour barrier, and egress where the room needs it. A visible problem is dealt with before we close the wall over it.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Permits and inspections are handled where the work needs them. For egress windows, electrical, or plumbing for a bath or wet bar, we pull the borough permit and coordinate the inspections.
How long will it take?
It depends on the square footage and on what the moisture audit turns up. We put the dated schedule in your written quote before framing, so you are not guessing.
Who is actually on site?
Our own crew runs the job, with one project lead from the first site visit to the final walkthrough. Framing, insulation, drywall, and the licensed electrical are scheduled and supervised by us, not subs you have to chase.
What if the scope changes mid-project?
Any change is priced and approved in writing before we carry it out, itemized on its own line rather than folded into an open-ended "miscellaneous labour" charge.
How does payment work?
Fixed-scope quote up front, then payments tied to written milestones as the work progresses, not a lump sum before we start. Financing is available through FinanceIt if you want it.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold RBQ licence 5788-2326-01, are registered with the CNESST, and are bonded and insured. You can verify the licence on the Régie du bâtiment public registry.
