Who we are

ToughJobs Construction Inc. (RBQ licence: 5788-2326-01) is a renovation contractor based in the Greater Montreal Area, Quebec, Canada. This page describes how we handle personal information you share with us through this website.

What we collect

When you submit our quote-request form, we collect the contact details and project information you provide: your name, email, phone number, city or neighbourhood, project type, project size, timeline, and the message you write, along with the language the form was submitted in. We also record the IP address and browser user-agent your device sends with the submission, which we use to help detect spam and abusive submissions. This information is stored together as your submission record in our leads database, hosted in Canada (AWS ca-central-1, Montreal region).

We do not keep website access logs.

Reviews shown on this site are public reviews our clients posted on Google. We show the reviewer's first name and last initial, the date and the text they published. To have a review removed from this site, email info@toughjobs.ca.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (a United States company), but only if you accept it. On your first visit, a banner asks for your consent, and Google Analytics does not load until you click Accept. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Once accepted, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<property ID>) in your browser to count visits, see which pages are viewed, and estimate your approximate location, device type, and how you arrived at the site (referral source). Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, so this data is not used to build advertising profiles, and Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. Data is retained for 14 months and then deleted automatically.

Spam protection

Our quote-request form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-bot service operated by Cloudflare, Inc. (a United States company). Turnstile loads when you start filling in the form (the first time you click or tab into a field), not only when you submit it, and it processes your IP address and browser signals to confirm you are a person rather than an automated script. This check sends that data to Cloudflare in the United States. We do not control how Cloudflare processes data on its own systems; its handling is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy practices.

Fonts

This site's fonts are self-hosted: they are served from our own servers, and your browser does not connect to any third-party font provider.

Why we collect it

We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, provide a quote, and follow up on the project. We do not sell or rent your information. We do not use it for advertising, retargeting, or third-party marketing. Apart from the third-party services described in this policy (our hosting and email provider, our spam-protection provider, and our analytics service), we keep the information in our own records and do not share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

We retain quote-request information for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide the service, fulfil our contractual and legal obligations, and meet legal record-keeping requirements (typically up to seven years). You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to those legal obligations.

Your rights under Quebec Law 25

Under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), you have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of personal information we hold about you, to receive it in a structured, commonly used technical format (data portability), and to withdraw your consent to our processing it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) at www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.

Where the data lives

Our website and back-end services are hosted in Canada (AWS Canada Central, Montreal region). Your submission is stored there, and the notification email is sent from the same region through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES). That email is delivered to our business mailbox, which is hosted by Google Workspace and may be stored outside Canada. The Cloudflare Turnstile spam check described above processes your IP address and browser signals in the United States. If you accept Google Analytics, it also processes your browsing data outside Quebec, in the United States.
